Boston

Elms Farm Cottages are located just 2.5 miles away from the historic English town of Boston, which is well worth a visit during your stay. This busy market town and small port is steeped in history with a range of heritage attractions - so much so that we’ve created a dedicated page to tell you more about Boston in particular.

More about Boston
Spalding

Spalding

Spalding is a market town on the River Welland around 15 miles away, famous for its bulb industry and annual Flower Parade. Take a trip to Springfields Shopping Outlet and Gardens, with over 50 brand name stores and stunning gardens to walk around. If you like boating, the Spalding Water Taxi is a relaxing way to travel between the town centre and Springfields itself. You may also like to visit 15th century Ayscoughfee Hall which is now a lovely museum.

Horncastle

Horncastle

Further north of Boston is Horncastle, located on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Horncastle itself is famous for a thriving antiques trade and has a fantastic selection of antique shops on offer. There’s also some quaint tea rooms, independent shops and delis to enjoy as you stroll through the pretty town centre.

Lincoln

Lincoln

Perfect for a day trip, and around 29 miles from us is the Roman City of Lincoln. With many heritage attractions on offer such as Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Castle and The Collection museum Lincoln is a fascinating and surprising English city. Lincoln offers both high street and boutique shopping plus an excellent selection of bars, restaurants and cafes. There are also monthly farmers markets and craft markets in the city – the market in Castle Square in the Bailgate is especially atmospheric, with lots of local food to taste and buy within beautiful historic surroundings.

Woodhall Spa

Woodhall Spa

Woodhall Spa is a pleasant place to stop and visit during your stay. Once an elegant spa resort from around the 1850’s, the village is defined by its beautiful wide, tree lined avenues and grand houses. A unique attraction here is The Kinema in the Woods, a wonderful old-fashioned cinema housed within a cricket pavilion. The Kinema has a regular programme of both new releases and old favourites and is tucked inside peaceful woodland next to the old Spa house.

Stamford

Stamford

A little further afield and approximately a 45 minute drive is the beautiful town of Stamford. With it’s pretty honey-coloured buildings and boutique shops, it’s a lovely place to visit for a leisurely day out. Nearby is Burghley House & Gardens, a large Elizabethan stately home used in many film locations and also home to the annual Burghley Horse Trials. You may also like to visit a similar stately home near Grantham called Belton House, which has a large outdoor adventure playground and stunning gardens.
